

Karen Wang is a founding member of Carbonbase - a Climate Tech startup building a fintech platform to facilitate carbon offset for a global audience. She leads the Data Science initiatives and China team at Carbonbase.
At Carbonbase, she co-curated TEDxSheungWan in Hong Kong, and hosted ClimateX - Carbonbase’s weekly climate salon, received tractions from more than 8000 audiences accumulated. She led the climate AI panel with the Monetary Authority of Singapore at the annual Fintech week in 2020. Co-hosted “Women in Data Science Conference' SH' with Stanford University. Karen is a volunteer at “2050”. She hopes to use technology to create a better climate future.
She started her career at Merrill Lynch. Before Carbonbase, she worked at Microsoft in the data sector. Karen holds a bachelor degree from Hong Kong Baptist University with a Statistics major and double-minor in Computer Science and Finance, going to pursue graduate studies at Cornell University. While she is not working at Carbonbase, you can find her playing violin at Hong Kong String Orchestra.
